Vocational Rehabilitation

Funds to Nebraska: $2,910,557*

The ARRA makes additional funds available through existing federal programs established under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The basic grant is for states to provide counseling, guidance, goods, and services to enable eligible people with disabilities to obtain and maintain employment. Services include assessment, training, job development, job placement, and other related goods and services. Independent living grants provide goods and services to eligible people with disabilities in order to help them live independently. Support may also includes home/vehicle modification and related goods and services.

Assistance services will be administered by the Vocational Rehabilitation Division of the Nebraska Department of Education to eligible Nebraskans with disabilities.
