LAW ENFORCEMENT

The ARRA temporarily provides additional funds for grant programs to assist states with a variety of general operations, as well as for programs to combat gang violence, drug trafficking, violence against women, and internet crimes against children. Other programs are also designed to provide survival and recovery assistance to victims of violent crimes. This temporary funding is not likely to allow law enforcement agencies to add more permanent officers to their forces. Included in this category also is ARRA funding for the Nebraska Military Department to modernize facilities.
