Looking for New Contracting Opportunities?

The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) offers many opportunities for businesses and other organizations to work on federal projects. The following Web sites may assist interested persons in obtaining information on these opportunities.

(Note: These sites do not contain information on personal grants, loans or debt assistance. Information on personal financial aid from the federal government can be found at USA.gov.)

Federal

  • Central Contractor Registration - All individuals, businesses, foundations and governmental entities wanting to contract with the federal government must register here first. Once registered, interested parties may search for federal contracting opportunities and assistance awards. A registrant must provide a Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number, a Federal Tax Identification Number (TIN) or an Employer Identification Number (EIN). Other general, corporate, goods and services, financial, point of contact and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) information may be required also.
  • FedBizOpps.gov - This Web site lists all federal contracting opportunities. Registration on this or the Central Contractor Registration website is not required to view general information on federal solicitations, but registration on both Web sites is required to access more sensitive, unclassified information.

State

In addition to federal projects, there may be opportunities to contract with the State of Texas:

  • Electronic State Business Daily - The Electronic State Business Daily (ESBD) is a Web site where all state agencies post solicitations for goods and services valued in excess of $25,000.
  • Centralized Master Bidders List - The Centralized Master Bidders List (CMBL) is the list used by all agencies for advertising solicitations. Vendors must pay a yearly fee of $70 to be on the CMBL, but they will receive e-mail notifications of new solicitations as they are posted on the ESBD.
  • Business with TxDOT - Hosted by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), this Web site provides business with critical information regarding contracts for various road construction and maintenance projects. Users can submit project proposals through the agency's online bidding system. In addition, TxDOT will host ARRA workshops to educate minority and small businesses in the construction industry on how to apply for stimulus projects.
