C. Todd Jones, deputy assistant secretary for enforcement in the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights, today released the following statement in response to the National Women's Law Center's civil rights complaints:

"The Department of Education is committed to ensuring that girls and boys have equal access to the vocational programs that interest them as is specified in Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 regulations. The Office for Civil Rights has an obligation to vigorously investigate each of the complaints filed by the National Women's Law Center and determine whether the schools are in compliance with Title IX."
