Endowment Challenge Grant Program; Cancellation of competition
for new awards for Fiscal Year (FY) 1996

SUMMARY: On August 10, 1995 a notice was published in the Federal 
Register (60 FR 40965) inviting applications for new awards under the 
Endowment Challenge Grant Program for FY 1996. Since the Congress did 
not appropriate FY 1996 funds for the Endowment Challenge Grant 
Program, the Department of Education cancels the competition for new 
awards for FY 1996 under this program. The Department will not make new 
awards in FY 1996.
