Vilsack, Copps and Wade Kick Off American Recovery and Reinvestment Act's Broadband Initiative

WASHINGTON—U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, Acting Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Copps and U.S. Department of Commerce Senior Advisor and Acting Chief of Staff Rick Wade kicked off the joint broadband initiative under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act today and announced a series of public meetings that will give Americans an opportunity to help shape the program.

Department of Justice Announces $100 Million in Recovery Act Funds for Crime Victim Programs

The Department of Justice today announced that $100 million is available for crime victim programs as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This funding will be administered by the department's Office of Justice Programs (OJP) through its Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), which oversees the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) compensation and assistance formula and discretionary grant programs. Vilsack announces $28 Billion in ARRA funding for USDA

Today, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has started to receive and distribute the first of $28 billion in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funding.

Education Department to Distribute $44 Billion in Stimulus Funds in 30 to 45 Days

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that $44 billion in stimulus funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will be available to states in the next 30 to 45 days. The first round of funding will help avert hundreds of thousands of estimated teacher layoffs in schools and school districts while driving crucial education improvements, reforms, and results for students.
