Submission of Third-Party Comments. The Secretary of Education recognizes, as reliable authorities as to the quality of education offered by institutions or programs within their scope, accrediting agencies and State approval agencies for public postsecondary vocational education and nurse education that meet certain criteria for recognition. A notice published in the Federal Register on December 29, 1997 (Volume 62, page 67632) invited interested third parties to present written comments on agencies scheduled for review at the June 1998 meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity (NACIQI). The purpose of this notice is to correct information that was provided in the December 29 notice regarding the names of two agencies that appeared in that notice, to add two other agencies to the list of agencies whose interim reports are to be reviewed at the June meeting, and to delete one agency, the Oklahoma State Board of Vocational and Technical Education, from that list. The correct information is included at the end of this notice. This notice also extends the deadline from February 12, 1998 to March 12, 1998 for interested third parties to present written comments on the two agencies named in this notice that will be filing interim reports. All other provisions of the December 29, 1997 Federal Register notice remain in effect. Petitions for Renewal of Recognition 1.
