Berkeley Lab Director Steve Chu

Vision: Over the next six years, Berkeley Lab will undertake $500 million in infrastructure improvements and new construction. The work will enable the Lab to provide our staff and visitors with state-of-the-art research facilities. It will also allow Lab and UC Berkeley scientists to collaboratively address some of the most urgent scientific challenges of our time, such as climate change and energy security. The Lab has not seen construction activity of this scale in recent years. I ask for everyone's patience and cooperation. As always, the safety of our employees and visitors is of paramount importance.

Berkeley Lab Site Construction Coordinator Les Dutton

Mission: As the Site Construction Coordinator, I'll work with Lab staff and contractors to minimize the impacts of construction on employees and visitors. Despite these efforts, there will be inevitable changes to traffic, parking, pedestrian walkways, and construction noise over the next few years.
