In addition to being a recognized standards developing organization, ASME administers several bodies, which develop the United States position on ISO activities. Such bodies are designated by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as U.S. Technical Advisory Groups (TAG) for specific ISO activities. The scope of a U.S. TAG shall be consistent with the applicable portion of the scope of the ISO technical committee (TC) or subcommittee (SC). The makeup of the U.S. TAG to ISO/TC includes participants from companies, technical and trade organizations, academia, government agencies, and individuals. The U.S. TAGs to ISO Technical Committees or Subcommittees that ASME administers operate under procedures based on the model ANSI procedures (issue: May 13, 2005)
The following is a list of existing technical committees. Some committees may not have a committee webpage.
