The purpose of the Journal of Applied Mechanics is to serve as a vehicle for the communication of original research results of permanent interest in all branches of mechanics. The majority of the papers published the journal are full length articles of considerable depth.
Another important format is the Brief Note, which is intended to serve as a means for the rapid communication of recent developments in an abridged form. Comments on published papers may be submitted in the form of disussion, which is subject to a rebuttal by the author.
The Journal also lists and publishes scholarly reviews of new books on mechanics and related areas. Technical areas covered include:
Aerodynamics; aeroelasticity; boundary layers computational mechanics; constitutive modeling of materials dynamics; elasticity; flow and fracture; heat transfer; hydraulics; impact; internal flow; mechanical properties of materials; micromechanics; plasticity; stress analysis; structures; thermodynamics; turbulence; vibration; and wave propagation.
Published: January, March, May, July, September, November.
