Dogs As Companion Animals

Dogs are used to aid humans in tasks such as hunting, herding and guarding. They are also used to enhance the quality of life of individuals with disabilities.

Gardens have been recognized by many cultures, groups, and religions for their functionality and overwhelming benefits. They serve as therapeutic jewels to provide social, emotional, environmental, and cultural outcomes. Besides personal benefits, one of these outcomes may include revived community pride and community asset development that results in increased tourism!

PYLI

The Points of Light Foundation engages and mobilizes millions of volunteers who are helping to solve serious social problems in thousands of communities. Through the Points of Lights Institute training and a variety of other programs, the Foundation encourages people from all walks of life - corporations, faith-based organizations, low-income communities, families, youth, and older adults - to volunteer.

Sheep and Goat Production Systems

Extension Team Project 11B: Sheep and Goat Production Systems is designed to respond specifically to production and consumer demands of alternative animal production systems. Outreach efforts support integrated approaches to nontraditional agriculture with a focus on sheep and goats.

A USDA Food Stamp nutrition education program that serves limited resource audiences, both adult and youth, in Alabama's nine metropolitan areas.

Urban Rural Interface Conference

This conference responds to urban-rural interface issues and focuses on the importance of building a working relationship with communities, organizations and agencies to serve diverse audiences through more balanced programming efforts. The activities are designed to educate participants on how to collaborate, build partnerships, and establish coalitions that enhance programs and services.
