National DNA Day, April 25, 2009

National DNA Day will be celebrated at NHGRI this year on Friday, April 24 with our annual online chatroom. Also take a look at our teaching materials, webcasts and podcasts from 2008 at our National DNA Day Main Page to get ready for DNA Day.

4th Annual National DNA Day Essay Contest
Sponsored by the American Society of Human Genetics, the National Human Genome Research Institutes and its partners, the DNA Day Essay Contest challenges students to examine, question, and reflect on the important concepts of genetics. Only 9th - 12th grade students are eligible this year.
