Kishana Williamson is a junior Animal Science and Wildlife Conservation double major, who transferred to UD from University of Tampa last year. Kishana is the president of Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANNRS). MANNRS is a recently re-established student organization that focuses on leadership and professional development. Kishana is an active member of ResLife and a Resident Assistant in Russell B. She is also an Ag Ambassador, part of the Ag Day planning team, and the social chair for Animal Science Club.
Faculty
Yan Jin, professor of soil physics in the department of plant and soil sciences, has been named a fellow of the Soil Science Society of America (SSA), the highest recognition of the professional society. Dr. Jin is known for her research in the measurement, modeling, and interpretation of contaminant fate and transport in porous media. In particular, Jin's research concentrates on the vadose zone, the mostly unsaturated zone between the soil surface and the permanent groundwater table.
Alumni
Andrew Wedel graduated from UD's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 1992 with his bachelor's degree in Agriculture Engineering Technology. He is currently employed as an agricultural engineer and the division manager at McLanahan Corporation in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania. Andrew was part of the engineering team that installed the new sand/manure separation and recycling system on the UD Dairy Farm.
Extension
Carol Scott, a UD Cooperative Extension educator who oversees all 4-H afterschool programming in New Castle County, has recently been named to serve as a 2008-2009 Afterschool Ambassador by the Washington, D.C. based Afterschool Alliance. Carol is just one of 18 leaders chosen nationwide to promote and build support for America’s afterschool programs. Scott will work in Delaware and nationally to organize public events, communicate with policy makers and build support for afterschool programs.
