OLD WASHINGTON, Ohio — A new workshop by Ohio State University Extension will help you make heads or tales of an oil and gas lease.

“Leasing Farmland for Oil and Gas” takes place Thursday, April 23, from 6-8 p.m., at the Oscar Share Hall at the Guernsey County Fairgrounds, 335 Old National Road, Old Washington.

Clif Little of OSU Extension’s Guernsey County office will lead it. He said the program will help landowners better understand an oil and gas lease.

“Leasing farmland for oil and gas exploration is experiencing a revitalization,” he said. “Speculators and large land brokers are attempting to secure leases of large blocks of land. Leasing and drilling is expected to increase in our area.”

Registration, due by April 20, costs $10 per person.

Send your name, address and telephone number to OSU Extension, Guernsey County, P.O. Box 300, Old Washington, OH 43768. Make checks payable to OSU Extension.

Call Little at (740) 489-5300 or (740) 432-9300 for more information.

The program is for educational purposes only and is not be considered as legal advice.

OSU Extension is the outreach arm of Ohio State’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.
