NAACP CHAIR JULIAN BOND SPEAKS WITH PR DIR. JOE SOWMICK

Jan 21 2009 - Tribal PR Director Joseph Sowmick had the rare privilege to speak with NAACP Chair Julian Bond at the Soaring Eagle Resort before Bond delivered a talk at Central Michigan University. Bond was the first African American to be considered as a major party vice-presidential candidate in the 1968 US election cycle.(more)


SOWMICK HONORED WITH CMU DOCTORATE DEGREE
As the first Native American from Michigan to receive an honorary degree from a major state university, Joseph Sowmick felt humbled, yet excited to have shared the day with other Tribal members who graduated on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Rose Arena. (more)

 

 


TRIBE SEES FURTHER DIVERSIFICATION IN SAGANING
The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe furthered its business diversification in the Saganing area near Lake Huron by opening both the Eagle Bay Marina and a nearby Saganing Sagamok Shell station.
