AmeriCorps provides support to nonprofits, faith-based and community organizations, and public agencies committed to meeting critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment.

Grantees and sponsoring organizations are responsible for recruiting, selecting, and managing members. Some grantees also may provide funding to sub-grantees. To learn which grantees may offer this kind of program support to your organization, please contact your State Service Commission.

In general, AmeriCorps NCCC and AmeriCorps VISTA do not provide operating grants of this type. Instead they provide access to AmeriCorps NCCC and AmeriCorps VISTA members to work on projects addressing critical community needs.
