The Avalon Garden Club held an Arbor Day Ceremony on Friday, April 24th in front of the new Avalon Public Safety Building. Mayor Martin Pagliughi assisted with the planting of a new Downy Shadblow tree (Amelancher Canadensis). These trees eventually reach 20 to 25 feet in height with a spread of 15 to 20 feet. Avalon Garden Club President Sharon Cooper and Arbor Day Chair Lynne Rawak hosted the event.
Workers installed brand new lettering on Avalon’s new public safety building on Dune Drive, next to Borough Hall. The new public safety building houses the Avalon Police Department, and other Borough functions.
