Mr. Ronnie
Sherman Sigman of Stuttgart, Arkansas has been a
cooperative observer for the National Weather Service for 10 years (as of December,
1989). He has measured air and soil temperatures and precipitation...and mailed his
measurements to the National Weather Service at the end of each month. These
measurements are sent to the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina
and eventually published to become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather. For his efforts, Mr.
Sherman received a 10 Year Length-of-Service Award from the National Weather
Service.
Mr. Sherman
observes weather conditions at the University of Arkansas - Rice Branch Experimental
Station. Observations have been taken at this facility since 1937...which deserves
recognition. People at the facility were given a Special Service Award for their
dedication. |
