Environmental Sciences and Planning

PBS&J provides professional services that involve a high level of technical expertise in the natural and cultural sciences, encompassing disciplines that range from archaeology to zoology. The firm’s scientists are trained in the application of scientific methods to describe and quantify natural and cultural resources, and to assess and predict man’s effects on those resources. In addition to assisting clients independently, PBS&J's scientists frequently work side by side with engineers and other technical professionals on multidisciplined teams, and their contributions to projects have helped to distinguish PBS&J in the industry. This integrated approach has allowed us to address the complex regulatory issues and operational needs of our clients in a comprehensive yet cost-effective manner.

PBS&J's scientists and related professionals have substantial expertise and experience in a wide range of disciplines, and support a variety of projects on the land, underwater, and in those areas where the two meet. Projects include regulatory permitting and compliance, ecosystem restoration, land and water resource management, ecological risk assessment, environmental monitoring, field testing, and laboratory analysis.
