Ecology Division - Highlighted Project Experience

Meadowridge - Brevard County, FL

Project Type: Agency Coordination, Archaeology and Threatened and Endangered Species

Meadowridge comprises approximately 100-acres of developed and undeveloped, naturally vegetated land north of State Road 405 in Titusville, Brevard County, Florida. ESI performed environmentally related tasks on portions of the Meadowridge community that have since been developed into the Oaktrails, Laurel Run and Bent Oak residential subdivisions. ESI also has performed environmentally related tasks on other portions of the Meadowridge property that have not yet been improved and we expect to continue work with this client through the projects various phases until buildout. ESI completed the following environmentally related tasks within the Meadowridge property:

  • Wetland and Threatened and Endangered Species Assessment
  • Wetland Delineation and Functional Analysis, including coordination with St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (CE) to verify the on-site wetland limits and determine the quality and function of the on-site wetlands
  • Gopher Tortoise Surveys, Relocations, and Incidental Takes, coordination with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC) to verify the extent of suitable and occupied on-site gopher tortoise habitat
  • Florida Scrub-jay Surveys and occupied habitat mapping, including coordination with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) for verification of occupied Florida Scrub-jay habitat
  • Technical report writing regarding environmentally related issues with the site
  • Wetland enhancement through the installation of native wetland vegetation and the removal of nuisance/exotic vegetation
  • Intensive Cultural Resource Assessment Survey
