| The NIJ Conference 2009 will be held June 15-17, 2009, in Arlington, Virginia. For more than a decade, this conference has brought together criminal justice scholars, policymakers, and practitioners at the local, state, and federal levels to share the most recent findings from research and technology.

This issue examines how police can use geographic information systems and statistical analysis to create police districts that balance officer workloads and more effectively allocate resources.
The Office for Victims of Crime has launched the Victim Impact: Listen and Learn Curriculum. This online resource uses a victim-centered approach to help offenders understand the impact of crime on victims, take responsibility for their actions, and begin to make amends. It contains 13 training units that address crimes such as assault, drunk driving, domestic violence, homicide, and robbery.
