GreenWorks! Service-Learning Grant Program

Through GreenWorks!, AFF’s Center for Environmental Learning provides grants to PLT trained educators and their students to engage their local community and take action to improve their neighborhood environment. GreenWorks! environmental action projects link classroom learning to the world beyond.

Through GreenWorks! grant funding, thousands of elementary, middle, high school, and college students are planting trees, designing native plant gardens, restoring streams and riparian habitats, constructing hiking trails, starting composting projects, and investigating alternative sources of energy, among other projects.

Since 1992, AFF has distributed more than $500,000 to fund over 780 grant projects in communities across the country. In 2008, $150,000 will be awarded in two funding cycles. Grants up to $5,000 are available. Applications are due April 30 and October 31, 2008.
