Ecology Division - Highlighted Project Experience

RiverTown DRI - St. Johns County, FL

Project Type: Wetland Permitting, Mitigation, Exotic Species Control, Endangered and Threatened Species

Located on the St. Johns River between Greenbriar Road and S.R. 13 in Northwest St. Johns County, RiverTown is an approximately 4200-acre mixed-use development, carefully designed to be a balanced sustainable community. The development features 7 unique districts that are interconnected to each other and the river.  ESI has performed ongoing environmental services since 1998.

The RiverTown project has included the following services:

  • Development of Regional Impact assessment
  • Wetland delineation
  • Wetland functional assessment
  • Natural community assessments
  • SJRWMD, ACOE, DEP, and FFWCC permitting
  • Establishment of conservation easements
  • Creation and enhancement of freshwater wetlands
  • Ongoing water quality monitoring
  • Surveys for protected species
  • Gopher Tortoise Mitigation Plan
  • RiverTown Greenway Management Plans
