Research & Development

Themes: Livability and Urban Forests

Goal:

Our goal is to develop and deliver information on the relationships between urban forests and quality of life. Two of our showcase projects are the Urban Forestry Effects Model (UFORE) and the Baltimore Ecosystem Study (BES), one of only two long-term ecological research sites in the world.

 

Objectives

  • Develop information and tools to improve human community environments through urban forestry research and technology transfer
  • Understand the relationships of urbanization and fragmentation to ecological conditions of forests.
