Research and Development

Forest Service research in the Northeast maximizes forest values to people and their environment, develops the recreation potential of our forests; solves forest insect and disease problems; improves forest watershed and wildlife habitat management; upgrades forest commodities; and expands the forest products markets. Some 90 scientists at the Northeastern Research Station work in a variety of disciplines on a wide range of forestry problems.
