Chat With An Author
Posted on: September 21st, 2007 by Matt Raymond
The 2007 National Book Festival is drawing closer and closer (Sept. 29 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.)
People come to the Book Festival for a lot of reasons, but the big draws, of course, are the authors and the opportunity for their readers to interact directly with them.
For those who cant make the trip to Washington, however, were trying to do more to reach out and make this a truly national book festival. For instance, this year there are more author podcasts than ever before.
Washingtonpost.com, as in the past, will also host online chats with authors. (The Washington Post is a charter sponsor of the NBF.) The first chat will be Monday, Sept. 24, at noon EDT with Judith Martin, AKA Miss Manners. The second will be Thursday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. EDT with author and CNNs chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta. (You can also listen to a podcast with Dr. Gupta here.)
Because there are two things the world can never have enough of: good manners and good health!

Podcasts, online chats…God bless American technology. Now if only they could do live feeds, I wouldn’t even have to face the masses on the Mall…

You really need to optimize the smaller image of the festival poster that accompanies this entry. The permanent blur it currently shows does nothing to market the festival or to enhance the LOC.

Point well taken, D. The techies here promise me an upgrade very soon that will fix a number of issues including thumbnails.
