Archaeology

Environmental ConsultingSince the 1960s local, state, and federal agencies have adopted regulations that take into account the affect private and public development will have on America’s known and unknown historic properties. For the past 16 years, ESI has been conducting all levels of archaeological and historical research in compliance with those regulations. ESI’s cultural resource professionals include archaeologists, architectural historians, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysts and predictive modeling specialists with extensive experience throughout the region. We have established positive working relationships with local, state and federal review agencies and possess a comprehensive familiarity with applicable municipal, state and federal regulations, including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), which is the main federal regulation that governs the treatment of cultural resources.
