Hey. I am Isaac Newton Farris, Jr. -- president and chief executive officer of the King Center in Atlanta, GA., and I'm speaking to you from the headquarters of the Corporation for National and Community Service... our great partner since 1994, when Congress changed the King Holiday legislation. The change was to make it a day of community service and the nation has responded beautifully. We're three days out and we have over 10,000 projects signed up and we expect to have over a million acts of service committed on the King Holiday. This is due, in no small part, to President-elect Obama's call to service. The nation has responded to it and I would encourage you to "Make It a Day On, Not a Day Off". And not only that, but don't only do service on the King Holiday, but commit to doing this year-round. Remember, the best way to honor Dr. King is by committing an act of service.
