The management of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, off-set project implementation and market trading of GHG credits has become a high-priority, global topic as well as an emerging issue with state and local agencies. Many anticipate the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions, potential reduction requirements, and carbon credit trade in the not to distant future. Many companies, organizations, and governmental entities are adopting “green policies,” and many have decided to become carbon neutral to demonstrate their commitment to the environment.
ESI is on the forefront of these emerging issues on the national as well as the local levels. We are Authorized Verifiers for Forestry Offset Projects registered with the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) – a voluntary, national, cap and trade marketplace. At the state level, ESI is an approved third-party carbon credit verifier for the Georgia Carbon Sequestration Registry Act (Senate Bill 356), as implemented by the Georgia Forestry Commission.
