President George H.W. Bush Honored for Civic Service

Points of Light Institute honored President George H.W. Bush for his leadership in civic service at a reception at the White House on Jan. 7, marking 20 years since his vision of a thousand points of light. CEO Michelle Nunn also shared the organization’s plans to redefine volunteerism. This was the first of several events celebrating the 20th anniversary of Points of Light.

Volunteer Impact, Retention and Expansion (VIRE) Grants

HandsOn Network is pleased to announce funding available to increase the nation’s volunteer infrastructure. The first round will issue up to $1.5 million in grants to State Entities and Volunteer Connector Organizations. Funds are made possible through a Cooperative Agreement with the Corporation for National and Community Service.
