GUAM SOLDIER DIES IN IRAQ

Jesse Castro

U.S. Army Sergeant Jesse Castro, 22, from Guam died on December 6, 2006, while on patrol in Hawijah, Iraq, in a roadside bombing that killed four others.  Jesse Castro hails from Guam and is the seventh known soldier from Guam to die in the War on Terror.  In remembering Jesse Castro and the other Insular Heroes who have gone before him, the Department of Interior’s Office of Insular Affairs honors those who have given the ultimate in sacrifice in the War on Terror.  Sgt. Castro leaves behind his wife, Theresa Castro, and a 2-week old son, Jesse Castro, Jr.
