Impact of Senior Corps

Senior Corps impacts both its volunteers and the communities they serve. Performance reviews, research, and policy analysis help develop and cultivate knowledge that enhance the overall effectiveness of Senior Corps and of national and community service programs. Numerous reports demonstrate the positive impact Senior Corps programs have on the volunteers and the communities where they serve.

State Performance Reports

The Corporation for National and Community Service presents performance data on its programs annually. The Corporation views this as an ongoing process of increasing the amount of transparency in our reporting of performance data, and plans to continue to work with program staff, the field, and other constituents to develop measures of performance that will continue to help us to improve the services we provide.

Program Year 2003-2004

Program Year 2002-2003

Urban Institute Report on Performance Measurement (Outcome Indicators and Outcome Management) focused on identifying outcomes, outcome indicators, and data sources that will enable the Corporation to track the outcomes of its programs, while at the same time using the outcome information to make the Corporation a results-oriented agency, one using outcome management. Read the report (392 KB PDF).

Program Overviews

The National Program Overviews indicate the level of program funding; number of projects, volunteer stations, and volunteers; and number of volunteer hours by service category.
