Rob Hyde has been a registered volunteer with RSVP of Salt Lake City since April 2003. Rob is currently serving in Beaumont Texas with the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Rob’s relief efforts include helping evacuees acquire low interest loans. Rob also served for two months in Alabama and Louisiana during the Hurricane Ivan relief efforts in 2004.
Throughout the year, Rob serves with the Utah Medicare Education Team or UMET. UMET is a project designed to get information on Medicare Fraud and Abuse into the hands of the citizens of local communities. The team is educated by Utah Legal Services once a month, and passes this information on to Medicare beneficiaries in our area.
As a member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Rob is the Vet Representative. He keeps up to date with all veterans’ benefits and makes sure that the vets in his post are updated and receive the benefits to which they are entitled. He also makes sure they have transportation to veteran hospitals and clinics. Rob is also a citizen volunteer who sits on the Central Utah Citizen Corps Council working with Homeland Security issues and serves as Sevier County CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Coordinator. |
