During the summer of 2002, teens from all over the country traveled to the 87,000 acre Chico Basin Ranch in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to accomplish much-needed manual labor — serving as ranch hands by helping out with different projects. They learned about the environment, gained service-learning credits, and developed lasting friendships as a result of their community service.
