About the Rocky Mountain Region

A message from the Acting Regional Administrator

GSA's Rocky Mountain Region (RMR) takes advantage of the Public Buildings Service (PBS) and the Federal Acquisition Service’s (FAS) combined authorities to fulfill its diverse customer requirements. This work spans from managing more than 17 million square feet of real estate to saving millions of taxpayer dollars by using the bulk buying power of FAS contracts. Based in Denver and covering six diverse western states including Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Montana, South Dakota and North Dakota, the region manages 615 government-owned and leased buildings that serve approximately 50,000 federal employees with office space and supplies.  The RMR will also play a significant role in stimulating not only the economy with new jobs but encouraging long-term growth in sustainable practices, ranging from retrofitting buildings to be more energy efficient to delivering more fuel efficient vehicles.

The culture in the region revolves around building community - embracing customers, business and GSA employees. RMR offers and encourages employees to take advantage of many diverse opportunities to work together on projects or events in and out of the office.

Through PBS, the RMR supports the nation's environmental laws and policies, helping balance America's need for a healthy and sustainable environment. The region currently features six Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Certified buildings with two new buildings pending LEED® Certification.  The Denver Federal Center (DFC) Solar Park is a project the RMR is particularly proud of.  On line since January 2008, the six-acre solar park now produces 10% of the peak electricity needed by the DFC campus.  That is enough energy to power 145 average houses in Colorado.  Through FAS, the region also takes advantage of using innovative techniques and leverages government-wide buying power, acquisition expertise, and electronic tools to successfully deliver new and existing services, products and solutions.

The RMR has all of the right ingredients.  We deliver excellent customer service through knowledgeable employees, who work within a supportive culture.  This all results in the effective delivery of GSA's mission.
