Summit on Corporate Volunteering

Dear National Service Colleagues,

Tomorrow in New York the Corporation, the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, and other government, and corporate leaders will convene the Summit on Corporate Volunteering: Towards a New Definition of Pro Bono.

The goal of the Summit is to move toward “pro bono” service becoming as common in the business world as it is in the legal field. The audience at the Summit will be corporate executives and we hope that the corporate community will leave the summit convinced of the benefits of pro bono service and skilled professional volunteering.

Due to space limitations we are unable to welcome more attendees at this time; however we know that many of you in the national service and volunteering sector will be interested in the Summit’s outcome. Please feel free to join us on Friday, February 22 for a conference call briefing (see info below) on the Summit’s outcomes, and ways to participate in the next steps.

Call Date: February 22, 2008

Call Time: 12:00 PM EST

Dial In Number: 888-455-2893

Passcode: EISNER

Leader: Mr. David Eisner

We will also post all materials from the Summit on our website: http://www.nationalservice.gov/about/initiatives/probono.asp. I look forward to the strides we can make together in this area.

In service,

David Eisner
CEO
Corporation for National and Community Service
