Welcome to the American Iris Society (AIS) website. We hope that you will find this website an informative and helpful resource to all kinds of iris information.

The American Iris Society is a nonprofit institution incorporated February 2, 1927, in the County of Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania. By the terms of the Charter, the Corporation has no stockholders and exists for the sole purpose of promoting the culture and improvement of the Iris.

2009 Tall Bearded Iris Symposium: (December 2008)  Looking forward to the January 2009 AIS Bulletin for the results of the 2009 Tall Bearded Iris Symposium ballot, the sixty-eighth official Tall Bearded Iris Symposium of the American Iris Society. 2008 AIS Photo Contest: (December 2008)  Also looking forward to the AIS Photo contest results that will be presented in the January 2009 AIS Bulletin. Previous years contest reports and results along with the winning and runner up photographs are also available for your viewing pleasure. Please go to the Iris Information > AIS Photo Contest section of the AIS website.

AIS 2008 Awards announced: (August 2008) The full listing of 2008 AIS Award winners is available now in the AIS Awards section of the AIS website. This is the final complete awards listing and includes the JI listings.

AIS 2009 Convention: (May 2008) Everyone is now looking forward to the next AIS Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. As usual we will have the details conveniently provided here on the AIS website for you to make your plans well ahead of time. The convention organizers, the Greater Kansas City Iris Society, also have a website with information. The AIS 2009 Convention will take place May 11-16 2009 in Kansas City, Missouri with visits to official iris tour gardens in the surrounding area. Follow the links provided below for more details of the 2009 event. There will be two places to get information:

The Austin, Texas AIS 2008 Convention is now completed: (April 2008) We hope that you were able to attend and that you enjoyed; the event, your visit to Texas, new and old iris friends and the iris display gardens. Convention event dates were April 14-19 2008. Please go to the special AIS 2008 Convention information section of the AIS website to see what is was all about. We will have some AIS 2009 convention info coming along soon.
