6th Annual Black History Month Celebration

Andrew Jackson Visitor Center


Join us as we celebrate Black History Month with keynote speaker Dr. Adonijah Bakari, Professor of African American Studies at Middle Tennessee State University. A special theatrical performance by Sista' Style of Nashville will bring to life personalized stories of the Hermitage enslaved community. Student artwork from local schools including Andrew Jackson Elementary, Dupont-Hadley Middle School and McGavock High School will be on display in the Andrew Jackson Visitor Center gallery to view. This event is free and open to the public.

Attention all Tennessee Residents!

Make your way to The Hermitage between January 1 and February 28, 2009, and receive a special discount. Show your Tennessee Driver's License at the ticket office along with a canned food item for Second Harvest Food Bank and receive 50% off regular adult admission! 

Seasonal Hours

The Hermitage will be open 9am-3pm daily during the months of January and February with the exception of Tuesdays. The site will be closed on Tuesdays. The Hermitage will also be closed January 19, 2009, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and remain closed through Friday, January 23, 2009 for staff training and site wide maintenance.
