USDA Releases 1.9 Billion for Conservation on Working Lands
Agriculture Secretary Ann M. Veneman announced that USDA is releasing nearly $1.9 billion through NRCS for conservation assistance on working lands. The
funding will help producers with conservation planning and voluntary
conservation programs such as the Environmental Quality Incentives Program and
Wetlands Reserve Program. Veneman made the announcement during an Earth Day
celebration on a family farm in Davidsonville, Maryland (4/22/03).
