Portland OR - Last night at 8:45 pm,
Brandy Lynn Baggett, a 20 year old white female, was arrested by members of
the U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force (OFTF) at the Lloyd Center Mall
at 2201 Lloyd Center. The OFTF received
information Friday morning from the U.S. Marshals Service in Orlando,
Florida who were assisting the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in attempting to
locate Baggett and recover her four month-old daughter. The OFTF members
were advised that Baggett had taken her daughter from the Florida Department
of Children and Families Custody Center (FDCFC) on October 29th, 2008
against a court order issued by a local judge. The abduction of the baby was
posted on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC)
website.
The OFTF moved into the Lloyd Center Mall in
an undercover capacity and soon spotted Baggett and the child and then made
the arrest and recovery without incident. The baby girl was sheltered by the
Marshals until custody was transferred to the Oregon Department of Human
Services.
Baggett was arrested based on the Florida
charge, Removing A Minor From The State, Contrary To A Court Order. Baggett
has a history of assault arrests and cruelty towards children. Baggett was
booked into Multnomah County Detention Center on the Florida felony warrant.
