Marshals Arrest Suspect in Arkansas for Tallassee, Alabama Shooting

Montgomery, AL - Early this morning, a U.S. Marshal task force in Fort Smith, Arkansas arrested 23 year-old Kerry Devon Anderson, for a shooting incident that occurred on October 6, 2008, in Tallassee, Alabama, seriously wounding Elijah Bennett, 26 years old. Anderson was arrested at a residence near Ozone, Arkansas which is located in the Arkansas National Forest.

The shooting incident resulted in Anderson being charged with attempted murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. Tallassee Police Detectives contacted the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Montgomery for assistance in locating Anderson, who they believed had left the area to avoid capture. “Our investigators worked closely with Tallassee Police detectives to locate this guy. Solid police work by their investigators developed information that Anderson might be at a residence in Ozone, Arkansas. We contacted the Marshals in Fort Smith, and after conducting surveillance of the residence determined that Anderson was in fact there. Early this morning members of the U.S. Marshals River Valley Fugitive Task Force in Fort Smith, Arkansas were able to safely take Anderson into custody”, said U.S. Marshal Jesse Seroyer.

Also arrested at the residence was Tiffany Chamblee, 24 years old, wanted by Tallassee Police on theft charges. Both subjects are awaiting extradition beck to Alabama.
