FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR INFORMATION CONTACT: October 07, 2008 Matt Hershey, Deputy U.S. Marshal Public Affairs Officer (602) 920-4841   U.S. Marshals Arrest Convicted Sex Offender with 16 year-old Runaway   Phoenix, AZ – Yesterday, Deputy U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers with the Arizona WANTED Task Force arrested Johnny Corrales, 27, in the area of 49th Ave and Indian School. Corrales, a convicted sex offender, was wanted by Minnesota authorities for violating the conditions of his probation, having originally been convicted of rape. Information developed by Minnesota law enforcement and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), indicated that Corrales may be accompanied by a 16 year-old endangered runaway. Additional investigation indicated that the pair departed Minnesota in mid-August and traveled to Phoenix shortly thereafter. Yesterday afternoon Deputies and Task Force Officers developed information which indicated that Corrales and his minor companion were residing at a residence in the area of 49th Ave and Indian School Rd. After conducting a brief surveillance in the area, Deputies and Task Force Officers were able to arrest Corrales without incident and recover the 16 year-old runaway.
