New Orleans Not Far Enough Away to Hide for Baton Rouge Murder Suspect

New Orleans – A Baton Rouge man accused of murder was arrested this afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Service at a New Orleans apartment complex. Sanchez Reddick, 19, was wanted by the Baton Rouge Police Department for First Degree Murder, three counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery, and Illegal Use of a Weapon.

The U.S. Marshals led- Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force began searching for Reddick shortly after the incident occurred in the 3000 block of Conrad in April. Investigators developed information that Reddick was traveling back and forth from Baton Rouge to New Orleans to avoid being arrested. Reddick was located hiding out at an apartment in the Jackson Landing Apartments in the 3500 block of Garden Oaks.

“The offender in this case showed no regard for public safety and thought he could lay low in New Orleans. Once we found out where he was, help was only a phone call away.” said U.S. Marshal Carey Jenkins.

The Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, coordinated by the U.S. Marshals Service, is a multi-agency task force that targets persons wanted for violent crimes, narcotic offenses, and sex offenders in the Capitol area and surrounding Parishes. Participating agencies are the Baton Rouge Police Department, East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the Louisiana State Police, the Louisiana State Probation and Parole, and the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office.
