West Virginia Fugitive Captured by Task Force in Columbus
 
Columbus, OH - James Wahlrab, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio announces the arrest of Kevin Boykins. Boykins was arrested at approximately 8 a.m. today, March 25, by the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) at 334 South Ashburton Street Columbus, Ohio.

On October 25, 2007, the Jackson County West Virginia Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for Boykins charging him with Failure to Appear for Indictment. It is alleged that on May 24, 2006, Boykins was Driving under the Influence of Alcohol on Interstate 77 in Jackson County, West Virginia and was involved in an accident in which a five month old child was killed.

Investigation revealed Boykins was residing at 334 South Ashburton Street Columbus, Ohio. On March 25, SOFAST arrested the fugitive at this address without incident.

Boykins is currently incarcerated at the Franklin County Jail awaiting extradition back to Jackson County, West Virginia.

Last year, U.S. Marshals task forces arrested more than 27,000 state and local fugitives on felony charges.
