The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Arrests Former Mississippi Law Enforcement Officer

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force LogoSan Antonio, TX - Today the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) arrested former Pearl Mississippi Correctional Officer Jennifer Readus in San Antonio.

In 2006, Jennifer Readus was a Correctional Officer employed at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl, Mississippi. On November 9, 2006, a warrant was issued for her arrest after Readus failed to appear in Rankin County Circuit Court to answer an indictment charging Readus with Sexual Activity between a Law Enforcement Officer and a Prisoner.

Recently the United States Marshals Service sponsored Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Jackson, Mississippi developed information that placed Readus in San Antonio. At this point the LSFTF was contacted for assistance. LSFTF members found Readus at West Telemarketing located at 8000 Leaurate, San Antonio, Texas. Readus was arrested without incident.

The United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas LaFayette Collins said, “It always saddens me when a law enforcement officer ends up on the wrong side of the law. If these charges are true, the irony is that Jennifer Readus is now in the same type of place as those she once had control over.”
