A fugitive wanted by Savannah Police
Department for Aggravated Assault was arrested by the U.S. Marshals
Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Savannah-Chatham
Metropolitan Police Department (SCMPD) Patrol Units and SCMPD Canine
Units at an address on Alaska Street in Savannah, GA.
Quincy Van Dyke Duncan, 30, was being sought on a warrant issued in
Savannah, Georgia charging him with Aggravated Assault that occurred
on June 22, 2006. This case involved a stabbing that occurred in the
900 block of Pennsylvania Ave. The case was referred to the U.S.
Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force to help locate and
arrest this subject. Numerous leads have been worked by the task
force and the indication was that Duncan had left the Savannah area.
New leads generated by the Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and
SCMPD indicated that Duncan had returned to the area and might be at
an Alaska Street address.
The Marshals Fugitive Task Force members along with SCMPD Patrol and
Canine units went to the Alaska Street address and found Duncan at
the residence. Duncan was arrested without incident. Duncan was
taken to the Chatham County Jail.
Annually, investigations carried out by the U.S. Marshals result in
the apprehension of approximately 34,000 federal fugitives. More
federal fugitives are arrested by the Marshals Service than all
other federal agencies combined.
The Savannah Office of the Southeast
Regional Fugitive Task Force is a team comprised of law enforcement
officers from the Georgia Department of Corrections, the Chatham
County Sheriff's Department, the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan
Police Department, and the United States Marshals Service. The task
force objective is to seek out and arrest fugitives charged with
violent crimes, drug crimes, sex offenders, and other felonies. Last
year, U.S. Marshals task forces arrested more than 27,000 state and
local fugitives on felony charges.
