The Forest Service Volunteer Program Needs You

Are you a retiree, professional, homemaker, student, service club, or organization looking for a little adventure and excitement?  If you like people and care about our country's natural resources, the Forest Service needs your time and talents.  Last year 15,055 volunteers in the Intermountain Region accomplished over $5.9 million worth of work on the national forests.

The Intermountain Region is comprised of national forests in Utah, western Wyoming, central and southern Idaho, Nevada, and a small portion of California.  Volunteers are needed in a variety of areas:  Adopt-a-Trail, Back Country Ranger, Campground Host/Maintenance, Conservation Education, Trail Construction and Maintenance, Visitor Center/Information, Wilderness Information, Winter Sports, and many more.  On the Payette National Forest we need volunteer Campground Hosts, Trail Construction and Maintenance crewmembers, and Recreation Aides to work with the public in backcountry locations.
