Recreation Resource Advisory Committees (BLM/Forest Service)

In September 2006, the U.S. Departments of the Interior and of Agriculture established a public advisory committee structure to provide recommendations concerning recreation fee proposals for public lands managed by the U.S. Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. The combined agencies value input from the public and local communities most affected by federal land management policies. In combination with other public notification and communication efforts, Recreation RACs are designed to play a vital role in achieving a high level of satisfaction with BLM’s and the Forest Service’s recreation fee programs.
