Welcome

Granite Boulder at the top of Hulls Gulch, Glenn OakleyHulls Gulch Trail offers a quiet escape from the city of Boise below and a chance to learn about the unique natural history of the Boise Foothills. This is a good place to think, or not think, and to reconnect with the natural world. To help maintain these qualities, the Hulls Gulch Trail is for pedestrians only (print map). Bicyclists and equestrians are encouraged to enjoy the many other trail opportunities afforded by the Ridge to Rivers Trail System.

From the Lower Trailhead, the trail wraps around the hillside and then follows the creek upstream for three miles to the Upper Trailhead. The ascent is gentle but there is little shade, and it’s a good idea to bring water and be prepared for desert conditions.

Directions: About 7 miles up 8th Street in the Boise Foothills.

Facilities:

  • Parking for pedestrian and motorized recreation (different trail)
  • Restrooms
  • Year-round for pedestrian, Seasonal use only for motorized trail
