Conservation Innovation Grants

Updated 02/04/08

State Component

The purpose of the State Component is to provide flexibility to NRCS State Conservationists to target CIG funds to smaller projects, within their state, that may possess promising innovations, but may not compete well on the larger scale of the national competition. The Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) State Component was first piloted in fiscal year (FY) 2005. Since its inception, 32 states have participated in the State Component funding 272 projects for over $15 million.

The States below are participating in the FY 2008 CIG State component. State CIG competitions are announced through public notices, separate from the national competition. State competitions have a lower funding ceiling and may have unique application requirements and submission deadlines. Information on each State competition can be obtained by clicking on the links below. Links will appear as information becomes available.
